Fans offered final say in FNL season seven competition

Kampala. For the past three years organisers of the annual Friday Night Lights (FNL) tournament have grappled with ways of maintaining it as a fun tournament amid cash incentives.
With winners’ cash prizes increasing to shs3m over the years, the tournament often had a feel competitive playoff games. This year could however prove to be different following massive changes at the unveiling of the seventh season at Dinners Lounge yesterday afternoon.

Unlike previous years, the captains of the respective teams were voted for by fans with the 10 most popular players set to lead 10 teams divided into two groups of five.
A similar pattern will also decide winners of games with each Friday’s winning team determined by an online vote tally of fans regardless of the score at the five week tournament that tips off next Friday.

“The change is designed to make the tournament more entertaining.
“We are taking the game to a digital platform where most of the game’s fans are,” explained Tom Ochamringa one of the organisers.
