KAMPALA- National League champions Ndejje Elites dismissed Gabon champions Manga Sports 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) in the ongoing Africa Women Club Championship in Carthage, Tunisia at the weekend.

The Ugandan side, making their second straight appearance at the continental tournament, were simply too strong for the Gabonese.

Uganda’s other outfit at the event, Nkumba University, were humbled by Injis from Cameroon 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-15). Nkumba coach Tony Lakony blamed jet lag for the loss. Nkumba traveled on Friday morning, touching base in Tunisia in the afternoon ahead of the games that started on Saturday.

Back home, KAVC surrendered a two-set lead to lose 3-2 to Nemostars in the opener of the NSSF Volleyball League at Lugogo on Saturday.

Nemostars, chasing a third straight title men’s topflight title, struggled in the opening two sets, losing 25-20, 25-22.
