KAMPALA.
Huge crowds, good musical performances and the game’s best basketball players on show is what Kinetic, the organisers of Friday Night Lights (FNL) must have envisioned when starting up the fun event.

What they did not imagine, however, was that the games would turn out to be as competitive as the final between, Team Ikong and Team Blick at YMCA court in Wandegeya on Friday.

The two teams faced off as FNL season four drew to a close with Team Ikong winning its third title in four years in a game that sometimes had the feel of a playoff tie.

Team Blick had earlier qualified for the final after ejecting the previously unbeaten Team Sudi 81-73 to set up a final between the new Tiger Head Power teammates Joseph Ikong and Norman Blick.

Ikong scored a game high 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead his side to 73-68 victory as well as a cash prize of Shs3 million. Geoffrey Soro added 16 points and nine rebounds to the cause. Before that, a Select FNL team comprising of mostly foreign players recovered from a 30-12 half time deficit to defeat Team Uganda 52-50.
