The Tanzanian faces Ugandan Odeke at Lugogo on Friday.
KAMPALA
Despite fighting 10 times as a professional, Tanzanian Ashraf Suleiman is still looking for his first win out of Dar es Salaam.
The masicular fighter takes on Ugandan Kenneth ‘Bad News’ Odeke in a heavyweight bout at the MTN Arena in Lugogo on Friday.
Suleiman has been in the ring on four occasions in the past three years, losing thrice and drawing once. His last victory, a knock-out, came against Chuku Dusso at the Magomeni Hall in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. “Lately, my record has not been that good but I plan to put an end of the losing streak,” Suleiman told Daily Monitor on phone from Tanzania.
In 2007, Suleiman floored Bernard Mwakasanga to win the Tanzania Pugilistic Syndicate heavyweight title. He defended it 11 months later when he humbled Joseph Marwa.
Suleiman’s record stands at 3-4 (KO 1)-2d- (2Kos). His opponent Odeke has fought only twice, winning both fights by knockout. Suleiman weighs 115 kilogrammes and believes that he has a weight advantage over the lighter Odeke.
