Boston- It is happening again. Once beaten lightweight prospect Sharif “The Lion” Bogere (31-1-0) returns to the ring tonight, after a relatively quiet seven months.

Bogere who last fought and won in January at the Sams Town Hotel in Las Vegas, makes a return at the same venue tonight in a 10 round undercard lightweight contest against hard-hitting Chilean, Oscar Mauricio Bravo Rodriguez.

“After my fight in Janaury, i had to fast during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. I respect my religion, it comes before any other business,” Bogere explained why he has been quiet.

“But I never switched off my training. I have been active, training more than once a day. I have been working and correcting a few mistakes i did during the January fight and if I do everything right, I will win.”
Bogere’s vitality is allowing him explore different heights.

He has battled opponents from Mexico, USA, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republican, Columbia and is about to take on a Chilean for the first time. Bravo (27-7-0) on the other side, is not a good traveller. All his seven losses have happened on foreign soil with three of them taking place in USA.

Trainer Thell Torrence (inducted into World Boxing Hall of Fame) says Bogere is relaxed, sharp and ready to fight. “It is is just a regular fight, man. For Bogere, this is something he has always wanted to do.We have worked on the jab with emphasis on a fast and straight punch, cross punching and hooks as well. He looks sharp and ready for the fight,” said Torrence

Bogere’s manager Jimmy Alex who like many fans in Las Vegas is used to the former’s valor predicts a good and entertaining fight.

“He (Bogere) has worked hard to get to this point in his career. He captures fans with his come-forward aggressive style and charisma; he is such a tough guy. Its going to be a good fight becuase both fighters are good but i think Bogere has an edge,” said Alex.

Despite Bravo’s poor travel history, he pauses a big threat since he comes with enormous experience. The Chilean has fallen short on three occasions for the International Boxing Organisation Inter-Continental Super Featherweight title, World Boxing Council International lightweight title and International Boxing Federation Inter-Continental Super Featherweight title.

The main card has another Mayweather Promotions prodigy Ladarius Miller (16-1-0) taking on Dennis Galarza (16-3-0) in a 10 round lightweight contest while Sanjarbek Rakhmanov and Kevin Newman (Mayweather Promotions) will be fighting Marquis Taylor and Ceaser Luis in the other undercards respectively.
