Going places. Commonwealth bronze medallist Fazil Juma will this Saturday fight Argentine Leandro Blanc in his first Aiba Pro Boxing contest.

KAMPALA. Sensational boxer Fazil Juma Kaggwa is eager to make a statement of intent as he ventures into the Aiba Pro Boxing (APB) starting this month.
Kaggwa, a 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth bronze medallist, starts his campaign against Argentina’s multiple national champion Leandro Blanc in the light fly (49kg) category this Saturday in Guyiang, China in Round 1 of Cycle 1 of APB.
Aiba Pro Boxing is a new version which was crafted by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) to fuse amateur and professional boxing. Here, boxers fight for money as—stipulated in their contracts with the aforementioned body —not individual promoters, yet maintaining their Olympic eligibility. At latter stages, fighters also vie for world titles.
National federations provide information to Aiba regarding: performance, health, conduct and age of their amateur boxers.
