Kenneth Odeke looks set to rule heavyweight boxing in Uganda and probably beyond.

At 21, the Soroti pugilist has had an impressive start to his professional career, recording straight knockouts over two Kenyan opponents.

First, he took out James Omollo in the first round on his professional debut. Last weekend, he needed only two rounds to finish off another Kenyan Joseph Ayeko. “I want to be the best heavyweight boxer worldwide and I am sure am going to achieve that,” Odeke said after defeating Ayeko. “Boxing is all about being fit and confident about yourself.”

Before he turned professional, Odeke had enjoyed a good amateur career, losing only once in 21 fights. Four of his victories came by knockout. Standing at six inches and two feet, he hopes to emulate former world heavyweight champion Lenox Lewis.
