KAMPALA. Imagine the spectacle of two upcoming Ugandan boxers in a Ugandan ring and the man issuing the pre-match orders: “what I say you must obey” is top referee Kenny Bayless.
Well, it will happen when the American referee, who handled ‘The Fight of the Century’ bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, visits Uganda in December.
According to Aimee and Daudi Kyambadde, his potential hosts, Bayless and his wife Lynora, will be here from December 9 to 14.
“Kenny will, among other things, preside over several boxing matches organized as part of a sports charity event at our Church,” Aimee Kyambadde, of Rezlife Church in Lubowa, told Daily Monitor.
Bayless, a member of Trinity Life Church, has travelled to many parts of the world, doing motivational speaking and fellowshipping but this will be his maiden visit to Africa.
“They will go to Kenya, first and then have five days with us, and we hope to give them the best treatment,” Aimee Kyambadde added. “Kenny will meet and talk with boxers, officials; fellowship with them and give them a word of encouragement.” In the meantime, his wife, a health and wellness coach, will be imparting her skills to the ladies.
