Moses Golola and Ronald Mugula face off in the search for the ‘Undisputed King of kickboxing in Uganda’ today

KAMPALA.

‘There can only be one kickboxing champion in the country.’ These were the words of Ronald Mugula yesterday ahead of his kickboxing match today against Moses Golola.

Golola (72.3kgs) and Mugula (72.5kgs) take to the ring tonight at Freedom City, Kampala to find the ‘Undisputed King of kickboxing in Uganda’.
“If Golola thinks I am here to play games or joke, I am letting him know that I am here for business. He has talked for so long and it’s time to prove himself,” Mugula said at a press briefing yesterday.
“I will do nothing but beat and discipline Golola to the maximum. Let’s wait and see who will be the last man standing.” But the self-styled ‘No Joking Subject’ - Golola, was on hand to hit back at Mugula.

“Now is the time to know who the King of Kickboxing in Uganda is. Like l said before, I am going to put this German shepherd (Mugula) to sleep,” explained Golola.

“I respect Mugula. He is one of the top fighters in the countries but he has no respect for me as the champion of Uganda. So our fans should expect the best fight as Mugula finally goes to rest.”

In their last fights, Golola knocked out Titus Tugume within 62 seconds in August last year, to retain his East and Central Africa Championship belt before getting a contested win against Romanian Zoltan Poczo in November whereas Mugula lost his world intercontinental welterweight title to Egyptian Abdallah Hessen in January.
