KAMPALA. The stage is set for arguably Uganda’s most skilled kickboxers; Ronald Mugula and Umar Semata to face off this month at Lugogo Arena.
Whereas German based Mugula recently returned to ‘acclimatize’ from Kampala gyms, Thailand based Semata chose to stay in Asia until the final 10 days of the super fight.
“I’m working under coach Sadat Yiga at Katwe gym who is improving my kicks and with coach Zebra (Isaac Ssenyange) at KBC gym who is working on my boxing ability.
Semata will be surprised with what I’m preparing for him in the ring,” Mugula told Daily Monitor yesterday.
Semata has just won his recent fight in China but this doesn’t make Mugula fret for a moment.
“I’m not Chinese. I’m a different fighter with unique techniques to knock him out early,” he added.

Semata says his kicks will do the talking because he thinks Mugula is no match to his abilities and fighting experience.
The two will fight in a three-round non-title fight in what promoter Malik Kaliisa says in a sieving process to get five fighters that will represent the country in the Dubai kickboxing gala later in September.
“Both fighters have a point to prove to the thirsty kickboxing fans. Mugula lost to Moses Golola whereas Semata was defeated by Piotr Lagodzki in a WKF Intercontinental Welterweight. It is indeed too close to call,” Kaliisa aka Don King, revealed.
