World Boxing Championship: Uganda's Ayiti to miss action

KAMPALA- Uganda's super heavyweight boxer David Ayiti will miss action in the World Boxing Championship in Hamburg, Germany after being left out of the competition's entry list as of Thursday August 25.

Team manager Fred Kavuma is not clear on the reason for Ayiti's late exclusion but speculation ranges from injury to weight issues.

In the 2015 edition in Doha, Qatar, Light Fly Fazil Juma Kaggwa was eliminated for failure to make the required weight. Kavuma was again the manager.

Meanwhile, bantamweight Geoffrey Kaketo will enter the ring later today against Nicaragua's Angel Jarquin. Uganda's captain Muzamir Kakande faces a tough match against USA captain Quinton Randall in the welterweight division on Saturday evening.
