KAMPALA- There is no doubt that Uganda’s Tour to South Africa has been solid thus far. The team has won two Limited Overs (50 overs) and Twenty20 matches apiece. They have lost only once, going down to Christian Brothers College Old Boys (CBCOB) by 68 runs in one of the 50-over rubbers.
Team Uganda skipper Davis Karashani who has had a say in each of the outings. The 26-year-old Wanderers allrounder has maintained the momentum from the Limited Overs.
He snared combined figures of three wickets for 36 runs in eight overs in the two T20 games against Tswane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria on Wednesday.
Uganda prevailed by five wickets after restricting TUT to 101 in the first game before scripting a clinical 22-run win over the same side under floodlight.
“These matches give us the preparation that we desire,” said Karashani after a team swimming session yesterday.
“We have to continue stringing together positive results as we remain focused on the big prize.”
Uganda is preparing for the World T20 Global Qualifiers in UAE this November and later the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers in New Zealand.
