Nile, Tornado pursue Twenty20 log leaders

Skipper Frank Nsubuga and last season’s MVP Benjamin Musoke did not bat but Tornado set a mammoth 219 for 1 - a score no team has managed thus far. “We are in great shape,” Tornado all-rounder Raymond Otim said on Friday after working out at the Lugogo nets.

“We expect to beat KICC. We are not arrogant but confident,” added Otim, who skittled through the university boys batting arsenal with figures of 3 for 20.

In group B, second-placed Nile (10) can go top if they pick maximum points against SVPC and SKLPS at Lugogo and leaders Wanderers falter in one of their games.

Wanderers (15) travel to Budo to play Warriors before entertaining SVPC at the University oval in Kyambogo. The Denis Musali-led side lost key players but he gathered a bunch of youngsters including Jackson Ogwang from Charity Trust Fund and have now won all their three matches thus far.

“We had a good start and I hope the team keeps the good run,” Musali said. Wanderers will however be without national skipper Davis Karashani whose future at the club remains uncertain.
