Ben Siwa, Nathan Ayeko and Isaac Ayeko will tomorrow represent Uganda in the Jan-Meda Addis Ababa International Cross Country.

The trio, picked after finishing among the top ten in the National Cross-country Championships held in Jinja last weekend, leave for Addis Ababa today.

Siwa, the more experienced on the team, is confident of a good showing. “I am motivated to do well but hope the weather won’t be as bad as the one in Jinja,” Siwa said. Nathan and Isaac, who came sixth and eighth in Jinja, will be fighting to cement their places on the team to represent Uganda at next month’s World Cross-country Championships in Poland.

Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has, meanwhile, picked 21 runners to compete in the Eastern Africa Cross-country Championships to be staged at Jinja Chairman’s Park on March 2.

The team includes top athletes like Moses Kipsiro, Janet Achola and Dorcus Inzikuru.
