KAMPALA.
The entire Tornado ladies’ dressing room was left shell shocked after they suffered a surprise seven-wicket loss to JACC in the National Women’s 40-Over League a fortnight ago.

The result was Tornado’s second defeat in four outings and they remain stuck in third position with 12 points. Such statistics will give minnows Ndejje SS some hope when they host Tornado at the schools sports ground in Luweero today. This fixture was meant to be played a month ago at Kyambogo Oval but was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

Newcomers Ndejje are second from bottom with five points from a possible 12 and their coach David Musoke will aim to build on their opening 10-run victory over JACC back in May.

“Our team is new but we have hit above our expectations so far,” Musoke said. “We are not under pressure for a positive result and that does work in our favour,” he said.

But Tornado captain Franklyn Najjumba wants her side to bounce back from their dismal display. “The team hasn’t put its foot right on the pedal so far,” admitted Najjumba, who has six scalps to her name.
