If the seasons of 2011-2012 are anything to go by, national opening batsman Roger Mukasa had a quiet 2012 by his own standards.
He was largely a pedestrian as his team Patidar Samaj failed to defend their National Cricket League title and mount any challenge in any of the other local events.

But it wasn’t all gloom and doom for the 23-year-old as his local franchise Rwenzori Warriors dominated the region.

The Warriors, won the T20 East African Premier League and finished second in the 50-over East Africa Cup.

“I think we have a chance,” said Mukasa after receiving news that the sports journalists under the Uspa umbrella had nominated Warriors as one of the four outfits for the 2012 Team of the Year award yesterday. “We worked hard and toiled a lot on the road.

It will be a deserved award.”
