Dr Alex Godwin Coutinho has made winning a habit both on and off the golf course. Only last week, Dr Coutinho won the Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize for the great work in The Aids Support Organisation (Taso) and Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Kampala where he has worked since 2001.

And on Saturday, he capped a memorable month by returning 70 nett to scoop the Hima Cement Captain’s Prize at par-72 Kitante course.

“I am so happy success in golf has meant success in other aspects of life. My winning round means I will be a single-handicapper for the first time in my golf career,” said Coutinho, who played off handicap 10, after receiving a big trophy.
