In Summary

The two-day tournament has a cash prize of Shs10m for the region’s elite professionals.

ENTEBBE

Godfrey Mande has had a quiet year and is looking to the 15th JBG Open that tees off today in Entebbe for resurgence.

“I haven’t played to my expectations and potential this year,” said the 31-year-old, who made a debut appearance at the Mena Golf Tour in United Arab Emirates in September. “I had a tough initiation in UAE. I didn’t make any cuts but I gained experience. I would like to make the exposure count starting with this JBG Open.”

The professionals will play for a pot of Shs10m. Seasoned campaigners; Dismas Indiza and David Odhiambo of Kenya plus the Rwandan pair of Emmanuel Ruterana and Jean Baptiste Hakizimana are expected to grace the 36-hole tournament and challenge defending champion Deo Akope.
