Golf. Local boy Edson Kabarebe and Entebbe-based Vincent Byamukama won the respective amateur and professional titles.
It was a timely reminder of the good olden days when golf was played for the first time in five years at the renovated nine-hole Kabale Sports Club (KSC) course on December 30.
Uganda’s only lady professional golfer Norah Mbabazi, one of the players in the field, despite highlighting that the course needs more work, she was happy the game was back to Kabale.
“It is a good feeling to play at home,” said Mbabazi at the end of the inaugural Paulo Ngorogoza Memorial Golf Tournament that was won by Kabale-bred Edson Kabarebe.
State Minister for Works Hon. John Byabagambi labeled the tournament a success, promised to woo corporate sponsors to finance more big tournaments like was the case before and contributed Shs2m to the on-going renovation project.
