Uganda seek perfect final kick to win Africa Zone VI

KAMPALA.

Uganda rallied from a one-point deficit on leaders South Africa after yesterday morning’s foursomes to draw level on 12.5 points apiece after the four-ball better-ball round in the evening to head into today’s final with a big chance of winning their first-ever Africa Zone VI Golf Championship title.
Lady luck continued to elude the par-72 Uganda Golf Club (UGC) Kitante course Greens Keeper Gideon Kagyenzi.

But aside his woes that saw him lose both rounds, the fist-pumps by players and cheers from the gallery were a behold to watch.

Henry Lujja, making his tournament debut, had an eagle on No.5 and a hole-in-one on No.4 to add gloss to Uganda’s dominant show that saw them tally six points out of a possible eight from the day.

“The final round is going to be do or die. We are going to deploy and attack wisely. The fans must come out and give the necessary support,” said Uganda coach Amos Kamya.
