Alwi beats Ssebuguzi to win Kampala city carnival sprint

Kampala. Alwi Hassan and Joseph Kamya in a Subaru N14 emerged winners of the 2017 KCCA carnival sprint held at Naguru satellite city on Saturday afternoon.
The two finished 5km circuit in a time of 05:03:56 beating Ronald Ssebuguzi and Lyon Ssenyange by nearly a minute. It was a perfect revenge for the East Africa international University sponsored crew who lost by a similar margin to team Ssebuguzi.
Omar Mayanja and Hussein Mukuye in evo X came third in a time of05:03:47 followed by Ranjit Kuku and Musa Nsubuga in a time of 05:12:79.

The husband and wife crew of Arthur and Noelle Blick were fifth in a time of 05:16:89 with Ambrose Byona and Derrick Lubambula sixth clocking 05:17:48.
The event attracted over 50 drivers. Viva energy and Hima cement were the sponsors putting in sh65m and Sh43m respectively. The proceeds from the event will be used to help 79 schools in and around Kampala city.
