KAMPALA- Geoffrey Kiyaga, commonly known as Black Widow in rallying circles, is regarded as a fast and consistent driver. He has, however, not performed impressively due to a weak Subaru car.

But now, Black Widow has acquired a new Subaru N8 which he powered to 10th place at the MPU Masaka Rally early this month.

Ahead of the Race to Race Sprint at the Uganda Motorsports Arena- Busiika on Sunday, he has vowed to put an end to Ronald Ssebuguzi’s dominance of events this season.
Ssebuguzi won the Masaka Rally, finished in the Mbarara Rally in March and won the super special stage in Jinja.

“I have increased the power of my engine; you will see the speed on Sunday. Fans should keep off the track especially the bridge. Am sure I will jump the highest,” Black Widow told Daily Monitor.

The sprint has attracted some of the top drivers like Jas Mangat, reigning national champion, Christkas Fitidis (Evo6), Susan ‘Super Lady, Muwonge (Subaru N12B), Jonas Kansiime (Subaru N10), Shafiq Ssemujju (Subaru N11), Ismail Ortega (Toyota RX), Fred Wampamba (Subaru N10), Wilbert Pole Pole (Subaru) and Peter Kakaire (Subaru N10).
The drivers will have two runs with a total distance of 8.54km. Entries close tomorrow. Action starts at 10am with MX riders putting on a show before the cars roll off.
