KAMPALA.

Arthur Blick Jr, the 2015 national Rally champion, has finally joined the Mitsubishi band wagon after leaving Subaru.
And this weekend, he will unveil the Evo X ‘Ekisodde’ during the SMC Tarvan Kick Rally in Masaka. The event is the third round on the NRC Calendar.
Since winning the title in 2015, Blick Jr has been having a rough time in the man-and-machine sport failing to finish on a number of occasions including the Jinja Rally early this year.
But he remains confident that he will regain his consistency and crucially ‘his winning mentality’ this weekend.
The motorsport legend, who is also a 10-time winner of the national motocross championship, told Daily Monitor his main focus this weekend is a podium finish for his wife (Noella).
The son of legendary Arthur Blick Sr added that he had done enough training with the car and was ready to take on the big boys in the National Rally Championship race once again.
“We are going to push. But the focus is to get a respectable position for my wife Noella,” noted Blick Jr.
Noella is his wife and assumed the role of his co-driver once Unissan Bakunda took up the cockpit as a driver of his own.He urged his sea of fans not to worry because a Mitsubishi is a car he has driven before. “This is the second time driving it because I started in a Gallant in the 90s.”
Blick Jr acknowledged that the unpredictable weather would play a pivotal role in deciding the destiny of the race and that he was going to do two pace notes of dry and wet to be in prime condition.
The event has a total of 313.38 km of which 168.50km is competitive. Tarvan Kick, Hajji Abbas Mayinja, Zebra Hotel, Kasolo Foundation, Rock Boom, Lato Milk and Muto Hardware Masaka are the sponsors for the event.
