Blick youngsters give father double joy

BUSIIKA. William Blick Senior, the President of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), was a happy father on Sunday after his children gave him an early Christmas present.
William Blick Junior and Isabella Blick emerged champions in the MX50cc Junior and Senior respectively during in the Grand Finale of the MX National Championship 2016 at Uganda Sports Arena Busiika.

The event also doubled as a rally in the sprint and Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) categories.

A mammoth crowd enjoyed the MX too.
“The competition was really very stiff throughout the season but hard work and consistence has finally paid off and am proud of William Jnr and Izzi,” Blick Snr told this reporter.
To emphasize his point, the UOC boss said: “William is the only rider in all classes to win all races this season.” He also thanked sponsors, City Oil, Multiple Hauliers and Jesa Farm Dairy for their support.

Elsewhere, Imran Nkurunziza ( MX65cc), Fortune Ssentamu ( MX85cc), Yasin Kasirye ( MX125), Fathu Kiggundu ( MX2) and Maxime van Pee (MX1) were all crowned champions.
With only the December 26 event to come, Ssebuguzi remains on course to win the sprint title which will be scant consolation for a below par season the National Rally Championship.
He went in the event on 46 points three ahead of Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru who did not take part. Ponsiano Lwakataka finished third ahead of Arthur Blick Jnr and Fred Wampamba. Drivers now head to Jinja next month for the NRC finale.
