KAMPALA- Endurance in muddy conditions will be the key as Maxime van Pee chases his maiden Enduro title.

The third and final round of Enduro National Championship takes centre stage at Dumien Orange (Fiduga Flower Estate), 18km on Kampala –Masaka road today.

The riders will go around the 13km course for nearly three hours non-stop and it will come down to stamina in the end, according to Maxime.

“Fitness will be the key in the long event,” the three-time national MX1 champion, who is also chasing his maiden Enduro crown told Sunday Monitor.

“I feel good and confident of lasting to the final tape. The event will also help me to stay fit and in good condition as am looking forward to the second leg of the East and Central MX Championship.”

The second leg will be held at Jamhuri Race Track on December 4.

Specifically for Enduro
Maxime, who will ride a KTM Exc 350cc bike, 2016 model specifically for Enduro, prefers a wet, muddy and soggy terrain to dry conditions.

Maxime has 40 points with Barak Orland and Nick Dames joint second on 28 points
Elsewhere teenagers Alestair and Paddy Blick plus Ali ‘Bobo’ Omar, who will drive buggies will battle with seasoned drivers Alwi Hassan (Subaru N14), who won round two and Ronald Ssebuguzi (Evo VII).

Others will include the championship leader Muyanja Sabiiti (Toyota Levin) and Fred Busuulwa (Subaru N10).

In the 4X4, pace setter John Bosco Nkumbi in a Suzuki Escudo will be out to win the challenge that will guarantee him the title he surrendered to Afande Vincent Achidri (Land Rover 110) last year.

Achidri is away in Somalia on official duties.
