Maxime and Miller battle for Enduro supremacy at Lake Mburo course

KAMPALA.
Endurance will be the key as riders tackle the first round of FIM Central Africa Enduro championship at Lake Mburo National Community Ranch this weekend.
The event that has attracted top riders from Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda will also count towards the national championship.
The three-in-one, two day event opens with the 4X4 Challenge and Autocross competitions at Fiduga Flower Estate, Nsimbe next Saturday before shift to the Enduro Lake Mburo National Community Ranch on Sunday.
Maxime van Pee, the reigning national Enduro champion welcomed the change of venue.
“For the past three years, we have got used to the Nsimbe course and hope Lake Mburo course will bring challenge to participants and excitement to the fans,” Maxime the Team Uganda captain, said during the launch of the event at Lugogo last week.
Joshua Mayanja, the clerk of the course, said the 25km course has three features; forests, a hill with big hardcore stones and another one with small stones.
“Endurance will be a key factor for the riders over the course. Top riders are expected to do around 50 minutes for a single lap and it will take around three hours for the winner to emerge,” he said.
The three Kenya riders will be led by Shaun Miller on a BMW 450G, the reigning Kenya champion.
He will be joined by Ben Spincks. Olivier Fietzek, who participated in MX championship at Garuga 10 days ago, will lead Rwanda team.
