KAMPALA. Fans left Victoria Race Track, Garuga on Sunday looking forward to the next round of the 2017 National Motocross Championship scheduled for Busiika on March 19.
This after an explosive and professional performance by Orland siblings Alon, Aviv and Stav plus a dominant display by reigning MX1 champions Maxime van Pee.
In the MX85cc, Aviv and Stav Orland underlined that their participation in California meets have made them better riders and that if they participate on the local scene for the rest of the season, then they will take some stopping.

Fortune Ssentamu who has dominated the class for the past three seasons had his work cut out and in the end blew his engine.
In the MX1 category, Maxime Van Pee once again set the bench mark. He won all the three heats despite giving riders like Asaf Natan, Arthur Blick Jr and Olivier van Pee a head start of nearly 30 seconds.

The two-time champions said: “I was extremely happy to see the number of riders that participated in the first race of the year. I was also happy with my performance; I was very consistent which allowed me to give a good show to the big crowd.”
Other performers include William Blick in 50cc peewee beat his rival Miguel Katende while Isabella Blick won the MX50cc senior. It was a land mark for seven year-old Malcolm Omoding three after making his debut, won his first ever heat in MX50 senior. After a disappointing 2016 season Alestair Blick and Ali Omar are set to once again go toe to toe in MX125 while Yassin Kasirye started with victory in MX2. Over 50 riders were on parade.
