KAMPALA
Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge is back in the cockpit to compete in the Champions Sprint set for Festino Citi on Boxing Day.

Muwonge, the 2011 national champion, is ready to take on Ronald Ssebuguzi, the 2014 national champion.

“Tell my fans I am ready for the Champions Sprint. I want to give my fans something to celebrate as we go into the New Year,” Muwonge said after a test drive at the Festino double circuit in her Subaru Impreza N12B yesterday. “I am still the same Super Lady, with the same navigator (Edmond Kyeyene) but different style of driving. I have been out of sport but class is permanent.”

Muwonge was also excited about the all-female Uganda Police crew of Christine Winnie Akello and Caroline Kanagwe, who will be making their debut in the sport.

“This is good news for the sport. I will help them as much as possible. They should feel at home,” she said. Drivers will have two runs of 2.90km at the double circuit. Apart from cars, there will be motocross at the refurbished track.

“We are going (on Boxing Day) to show what the fans should expect next year. Alestair Blick will for the first time ride a Yamaha 125cc,” veteran rider Arthur Blick Jr, one of the organisers, said.
