Uganda are the regional motocross champions after winning the third and final leg of the FIM Central Africa 2012 Motocross Series held at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi on Sunday. This comes four months after the Team Uganda won the Africa Motocross Championship title.
Uganda collected 4,644 points beating Kenya by 1,831 while Tanzania finished a distant third with 363 points. Uganda last won the regional title in 2009.

“It has been a wonderful year for the motocross,” said Team Uganda captain Arthur Blick Jr.
“We won our first-ever continental title and now we have bagged the regional one. The money we have spent hiring foreign riders to train our boys has not gone to waste. It shows how far we have come.”
Apart from the regional title, Fortune Ssentamu and Ali Omar won the individual accolades in MX 50cc and MX 65cc categories respectively.
