KAMPALA.
Professional boxer Joseph Lubega believes he will be rewarded with a sweet victory over South African Ryno Liebenberg after months of intense training.

Lubega, internationally known as ‘Joey Vegas’ left for Johannesburg, South Africa on Tuesday morning, high on confidence and will face off with Liebenberg for the World Boxing Council International (WBCI) belt on Saturday.
The 12-round contest that was scheduled for February 12 was pushed to March 1 after the sudden death of WBC president Jose Sulaiman.

Lubega, who boasts a 23-5 6KOs record, believes the postponement played to his advantage.

The 2002 Commonwealth Games silver medalist, who was asked by WBC to relinquish the belt, retained the same title last year in August after knocking out Egyptian Hany ‘Hurricane’ Atiyo in the fourth-round in Kampala.
The bout will be telecast live on pay TV channel Supersport7 at 11pm.
