KAMPALA- Team Centers Dickens Otim and Ambrose Otwao finished the National Beach Volleyball season as top seeds despite succumbing to the Sharks’ pair of Hannington Nsubuga and Isaac Omedo on Sunday. Meeting for the third time this year, the Sharks came out on top in straight sets 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) in a space of 49 minutes at Lido Resort Beach on Sunday.
“We were desperate to win,” said Otim. “But finishing top is also a good consolation.”
It wasn’t the show the fans expected from the Centers, who were competing for the first time since their return from the World Islamic Games in Indonesia last month. “Yeah, we didn’t play as well as many expected,” added Otim.
“But we were trying out a couple of things we learnt from Indonesia.” Otim and Otwao finished joint top on 445 points after bagging 90 points.
Nsubuga (430) stayed in third followed by Omedo in fourth on 420 points. Next on the calendar is the Castle Lite International
