Defending champions DMark Chess Club are expected to pick maximum points when they engage debutantes Spielfrei Chess Club in the first round of the National Chess League that takes center stage at Hotel Africana tomorrow.
The 2013 champions will later in the day battle out with former champions Mulago Kings in a match that promises fireworks.

DMark are also the 2012 winners of the national championship. “All we expect are wins as we chase maximum points,” DMark’s Arthur Ssegwanyi told Daily Monitor. But record champions Mulago Kings, who have won the title in 2009, 2010 and 2011, are confident of snatching away the title.

“We are looking to push them (DMark) all the way and to stop them from building a gap at the top,” said Mulago King’s Patrick Kawuma. DMark have a strong team comprising of International Master Elijah Emojong, Olympiads Arthur Ssegwanyi and Solomon Lubega.
