A full house of 35 Ugandan coaches was in attendance as the five-day Volleyball Cooperation Programme (VCP) course got underway at the MTN Arena in Lugogo on Monday.

The basics course is facilitated by Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) senior coaches’ instructor Alemayehu Shoatatek of Ethiopia.

Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) technical director Tonny Lakony was overwhelmed by the turn up. “This shows that the game will spread evenly across the country in the shortest time possible,” said Lakony after rookie coaches and teachers from the districts of Mbarara, Mbale, Iganga, Masaka, Wakiso and Kampala turned for the annual course.
