After securing a playoffs slot, Nkumba Navy are desperate to avoid top seeds Nemostars in the semifinals. Nkumba can only achieve that if they defeat second-placed KAVC in the National Volleyball League at Mubs, Nakawa this morning.
Currently fourth with 34 points, Nkumba want to overtake third placed Sport-S. Victory will push Nkumba level with Sport S on 37 points. Still, Nkumba would have to pray that calculators bail them out. As it stands, Nkumba have a better points ratio of 1.0965.
Sport-S’ points ratio stands at1.0513. But Sport S have a superior set ratio of 1.86 with Nkumba at 1.667 “The primary target is to see off KAVC on Saturday (today),” said Nkumba’s Mohamed Nepo. “The maths will come in later,” he added.
Sport-S won’t have any say in today’s proceedings since they have played all their 18 games. If Sport S finish fourth, they will have to deal with league defending champions Nemostars with Nkumba taking on KAVC in the semifinals.
