She Cranes seek support ahead of 2015 World Cup

Netball. Uganda was the first African country to participate in the Netball World Cup, also known as the World Netball Championship in Trinidad & Tobago in 1979.

Kampala. The national netball team, She Cranes, have called for support ahead 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
The team, which arrived in the country on Sunday night from Botswana, after finishing unbeaten in the Africa Netball World Cup Qualifiers also sent out a warning to Australia ahead of the August 7-16, 2015 showpiece .
“Australians should not underestimate us,” said She Cranes skipper Peace Proscovia. “All we need is just support both financially and mentally and we will do the rest. I believe we have the determination to break the record in Australia.”
The Six Nations Cup champions defeated Swaziland 58-38 to officially qualify for the 2015 World Cup alongside 15 other teams which includes Jamaica, New Zealand, England, hosts Australia, Fiji, Wales, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, Scotland, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados.
Tournament favourites Australia and defending champions New Zealand will be the first rivals to clash in the world meet after tournament organizers decided to start the event with 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6, 7 vs 8 in separate pools.
The trans-Tasman foes have battled each other in every title final - except one - since the tournament’s inception in 1963.
