KAMPALA.
The Pepsi National Beach Soccer League will have a new champion after holders St Lawrence University’s hopes of making the play-off final were dashed at the weekend.

The champions needed to beat Hurikken Group table leaders Nkumba Select at the weekend to retain a mathematical chance of squeezing through.
But Nkumba Select, now on 36 points with one game to play, edged the champions 5-4 and are now on track to make the final.

Mubs, second on 30 points with two games left, can only progress to the final if they rack up maximum points and achieve a superior goal difference aided by a Nkumba loss in their last fixture.
The winner in the Hurikken Group will take on the Monsoon Group toppers. Kira Young drubbed Braza Braza 4-0 to move top of Monsoon on 29 points with just a game left.

Stormers and Real Galacticos, joint second on 27 points, still have a chance to grab that one slot as long as they win their final games and Kira Young are beaten.
