KAMPALA. Youngsters Kirabo Namutebi and Fortune Ssentamu believe the Rwenzori-Uspa personality of the year accolades they won will spur them to fight for more medals in future.

Yesterday Uganda Sports Press Association (Uspa) crowned its underage sports personalities of the year 2013 at Imperial Royale Hotel.
Namutebi, the swimmer of the year 2013 and Ssentamu, the top motocross rider of the year, could not be crowned at the Nile Special-Uspa Gala last month because they are underage.

“It means a lot to be a winner and this award gives me a lot of motivation to win more,” said Namutebi after receiving her award.
Namutebi’s mother Hadija Namanda lauded Uspa’s contribution in promoting talent and shaping the future of their children.
Ssentamu was similarly humbled.

“This award means a lot and it’s going to drive me to win more,” explained Ssentamu, who is going to upgrade from 65CC to 85 CC next year.
Uspa awarded over 40 sports personalities last month at a glittering gala held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
