KAMPALA

Kampala University, UPDF and TLC have written to the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) to allow them back into the national league.

The trio, alongside Posta, pulled out of the league last year citing UNF’s failure to punish champions NIC for fielding an ineligible player. NIC reportedly fielded Stella Ayikoru against the four clubs yet she was expecting at the time in contravention of the league rules.

“We wrote an apology letter to the federation about two weeks ago,” Kampala University coach Hassan Nouredine said. “We explained to them why we pulled out. We are now set for this season and we hope to pick up from where we left.”
While Posta haven’t written to the federation, UNF organising secretary Ruth Rwakabale, said they had decided to let all the clubs compete in the league which starts Saturday at Lugogo.
NIC, Uganda Police, Prisons, UCU, Blue Stars and KCCA are the other league sides.
