Kampala- Uganda Sports Press Assocation (Uspa) vice president Ritah Aliguma became the first executive member from Uganda for International Sports Press Association (AIPS) from yesterday.
Aliguma, Uspa’s first female vice president, made the history after her position was confirmed during the 81st AIPS Congress in Brussels, Belgium.

The ascendency of her diligence in serving makes her achievement a no surprise. Aliguma has been made great contributions to Uspa since taking up her role in 2016. And she has been regular content provider for AIPS over the years.
Aliguma, 31, was pivotal and played a major role as Uganda hosted the first ever East and Central Africa convention presided over by then AIPS President Gianni Merlo in April 2015.

She also masterminded Uspa’s partnership with Brussels Airlines, the body’s Sacco formation as well as the Special Olympics partnership where Uspa is recognized at all AIPS Congresses since last year.

AIPS President Mitchel Obbi says Aliguma deserved this position because of her passion and determination for sport and also women inclusiveness is key.
