Herman Wasswa is undoubtedly one of the most prolific strikers of his generation.
With 51 goals in 91 league matches, the KCC striker, should be getting more attention.

On Tuesday, Wasswa’s effort from the penalty spot secured a point for champions KCC as they started their Uganda Premier League defence with a 1-all draw against Police.
Interestingly, the striker didn’t know he had surpassed half a century of goals after that game at Lugogo.
“To be honest that question you have asked me is very difficult,” Wasswa said after this reporter asked him about his goal count.

On learning that the equaliser against Police was number 51, the soft spoken striker wore a light smile.
“That’s amazing,” he said. “I guess my target now is to aim for a 100 league goals.” “I always believe that keeping fit and scoring goals will make me achieve big dreams.”
“I would also love to play professional football and achieve something for myself,” added Wasswa.
In his topflight league debut season (2010/2011) with Masaka, Wasswa scored a dozen goals. All the 12 came in 15 appearances of the second half of the season.

He only managed nine for SC Villa a season later (2011/2012). Thereafter, he guided KCC to their ninth league title by top scoring with 20 goals in the 2012/2013 season.
Injuries denied Wasswa playing time at KCC last season as he only scored nine, taking his tally to 50.

He has also netted nine Uganda Cup goals, two for Villa and seven for KCC. The seven earned him the golden boot which he shared with URA’s Feni Ali last season.
Early this year, his three goals also helped KCC lift the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar. Despite his scoring exploits, Wasswa has donned the national team jersey only once. He came off the bench in the second half of a friendly away to Libya in May last year.

He had been named in the 2014 Chan squad but was controversially dropped the same day the Cranes travelled to face Tanzania for their opening game of the tournament qualifiers.
He was recalled to the squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in May but got injured.
