We did all we could - Odongo

Ivory Coast 22-19 Uganda
Uganda 31-32 Senegal

Ugandan rugby finds it’s self in abyss with many unanswered questions after being relegated to Africa tier IC.
It’s hard to believe that one year was enough for the whole regression from 1A to 1C.

The Tunis trip is one that has left the whole rugby fraternity frustrated and worried about the future of the game that once scaled heights.

However, Cranes captain Brian Odongo has stated that his side did all they could in vain.
“It’s hard to single out what went wrong,” said Odongo. “We put in all we could and I guess it just was not our day.”

A 22-19 defeat by finalists Ivory Coast in the semifinals was followed by a 31-32 loss to Senegal that sealed Uganda’s fate.
The side returned in the wee hours of Monday and is expected to take some rest before they regroup for Elgon Cup preparations. The first leg of the annual tournament is scheduled for July 12 in Kampala with the return leg on July 19 in Nairobi.
