Weatherhead, Rockets vie for second

In Summary

Hockey. Wanaichi A clinched the men’s league title without a loss.

Second place will be up for grabs as the National Hockey League comes to a climax at Lugogo playground on Sunday.

Weatherhead, Kampala and Rockets, all stand a chance to finish second behind men’s champions Wanaichi A.

Kampala, currently occupying second position, will maintain the status quo if they beat or draw with Rockets. Rockets, joint third with Weatherhed (8 points) on the table, need nothing less of victory to unseat their opponents.

On paper, Weatherhead have the easiest fixture as they take on Wanaichi B, a team that rarely troubles them.

Wanaichi A secured the men’s title a week ago after completing the season unbeaten. They scored 43 goals, conceding only three in the process. In the women’s category, Weatherhead easily defended their title, finishing the season with only two losses. They beat second-placed Kampala (12) by six points.
