After a two-month transfer season break, the Pilsner Pool League of Kings resumes today. The pick of the fixtures is a clash between log leaders Scrapyard and bottom-placed Transformers. The two sides lock horns at Katwe Pool Club.
Scrapyard, who have 37 points, are the pundits’ favourites to whitewash Transformers in the opening game of the second round. The table leaders finished the first round unbeaten and are itching to extend their winning streak as they seek the crown. “This round promises several thrills,” Farouk Kisuze, the Pool Association Uganda (PAU) chairman, told Saturday Monitor.
“The new innovation of monthly awards and better cash prizes for top individuals and teams in all league divisions will motivate the players.” In other games, Volts face Kupa, Perfection exchange pleasantries with Kyadalu and Takers entertain Boat. The trio of Volts, Perfection and Takers are tied on 31 points apiece. Capital Night and Casablanca will be targeting to stave off the relegation monster that is staring at them.
Skin Samona, who are talking up their title chances, host Casablanca in one of the other entertaining weekend fixtures.
