After bagging the first leg of the KCB National Sevens Circuit at Kyadondo last weekend, Heathens are hungry to make it two in two at the ‘graveyard’ in Makerere today.
The defending champions will be boosted by the return of key players like Michael Wokorach, Jasper Onen, Jonathan Onen and Allan Otim, who were part of Uganda’s botched CAR tier IB campaign in in Tunis, Tunisia.
Heathens Captain Michael Tamale is taking nothing for granted when the meet kicks off.
“Last week was excellent,” he said. “We want to build on it as we aim to win the Makerere Circuit. Victory will put us in a very good position of defending our title.”
Hosts Makerere Impis will be tougher nuts to crack at their home. Last week’s finalists Toyota Buffaloes have always been a force to reckon with when it comes to 7s and they will once again be contenders. They are expected to unleash an array of stars including in Phillip Pariyo and Alfred Bijik.
