Prior to Rugby Cranes’ first test against the South African Barbarians coach Robert Seguya had hinted he would give all his players a fair chance to impress.
He drove the point home by naming six debutants in his match day squad. Ivan Wavamunno, Paul Sekate, Simon Olet, Ian Munyani, Joseph Oyet and Raymond Mukwaya were those that Seguya gave the chance to don national colours.
All newcomers that got some minutes under their belt had relatively good games but Seakate, Munyani, Olet stood out. Sekate played like a seasonal Crane and he was excellent at the line out.
Olet too carried the ball well and his presence was undeniable at the line out. Munyani did more than just scoring two tries, his entire game had lots of positives despite being part of a new look center pairing.
“For a first game, they all played well and we had some individuals that stood out. I was impressed, hopefully we see the same of Monday (today)” Seguya told Daily Monitor.

Better game
Seguya has also promised a stronger performance when the two sides meet for the second test this evening at Legends Rugby Grounds.
“I am going to make some changes after watching Saturday’s footage. We are going to come out much harder with our game plan to force an improvement,” he promised.
Uganda will host the Free State Cheetahs in May for two tests as they prepare for the Gold Cup which doubles as the 2019 World Cup Qualifiers.
