In Summary

The One Night Stand, the first of its kind, was a success

It was supposed to be fun rugby. But it wasn’t. The decision to include two ladies in each of the 12 teams was supposed to water down tackles. It didn’t.

Opting to have the “One Night Stand” played under floodlights at Legends, formerly Kampala Rugby Club, on Friday was to add to the entertainment. By the time Michael Wokorach sent Kevin Markmot tumbling in mid-air just after midnight in the final, the crowd of over 2,000 people had grown used to this being a ‘real fight.’
That dangerous tackle had the Rugby Cranes outside centre sent to the sin-bin though a red card would have been more appropriate. He never returned.

His team, mainly composed of MTN Heathens players, didn’t need him much as they beat Justin Kimono’s 19-0 to win the first tournament of its nature.
