Uganda’s Caf Champions League representatives Bunnamwaya FC have beefed up their squad after signing Cranes midfielder Mike Sserumaga and left-back Godfrey Walusimbi.

Sserumaga, who a fortnight ago had trials with Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, penned a contract with the Wakiso-based side worth Shs7m for the next six months.

The South African giants however continue to monitor the left sided midfielder’s progress and will negotiate with Bunnamwaya.

“As a club we feel it’s a deal that suits both parties and we are hopeful we can have that contract extended as talks continue,” Bunnamwaya’s secretary Haruna Kyobe told the Sunday Monitor.

Bunnamwaya also landed the services of former SC Villa defender Walusimbi, on a one-year contract.

The league champions, were however beaten to the signature of Cranes international and former SC Villa defender Simeon Masaba who choose to join Uganda Revenue Authority on a one-year contract for Shs10m.

Masaba’s contract has a closure that allows him to leave for professional football in case of a good offer.
The league champions kickoff their title defence against Masaka LC at Nakivubo stadium on Friday.

Meanwhile, KCC have blocked goalkeeper Franco Oringa from joining the Express FC.
