Jinja SS responded to coach Frank Anyau’s barbs that they are a village team by dumping out his Baza Holdings side in the semi-finals of the Big League playoffs on Wednesday.

The Jinja based side won 2-0 to set up a clash against Rwenshama-KJT who also recorded a similar score line over Mutundwe Lions in fairly attended games at Lugogo.

Before the game, Anyau had referred to his side’s opponents as a village cock that cannot crow in town but was beaten courtesy of a brace from John Wakalaita.

“This is the first time I have failed to take a team to the topflight decision but it was down to two stupid mistakes,” Anyau said after the game.

In the second semi-final, Mutundwe goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige gifted Rwenshama’s Sula Luzige the first goal as Fufa president Moses Magogo’s club was dumped out of the playoffs.

The goalkeeper failed to handle a routine cross to leave Luzige with the easiest of finishes and conceded a late second through Ronnie Kakoote after his team was caught on the break.

The two winners are expected to face off tomorrow to decide the third and final team to join Lweza and Bugembe Sadolin Paints FC who also meet tomorrow to determine the Big League winner.
