All Africa Games: Micho to begin with 100 players

In an unusual move, 100 players have been invited to the national Under-23 team the Kobs that will start preparations on Saturday ahead of the All Africa games qualifiers next month.

“For the first time in Uganda we are inviting players from all over the country and together with a number of coaches we shall look at them before deciding the final list,” explained Micho Sredojevic who will handle the side.

Four sessions
The players chosen from the Big League and Uganda Premier League (UPL) according to Fufa technical committee chairman Hamid Juma will take part in four sessions with half of the number starting out at Villa Park on Saturday morning.

The other 50 players will then train at Phillip Omondi ground at Lugogo the following day before the number is trimmed to 30.

The team will then enter residential training on February 11 ahead of the first leg against Mozambique on the weekend starting February 20.

The winner of the home and away fixture plays Ghana in March for a place at the continental games to be hosted by Congo Brazzaville in September.

March – April 2015 : Winner between Uganda/Mozambique Vs Ghana.
