KAMPALA- Fufa delegates and other Ugandan football stakeholders that will converge at Nimrod Hotel in Luweeero on Saturday for the annual general assembly will be anxious to read into the federation’s audited books of accounts for 2015.

Moses Magogo’s federation has often times been faulted for holding back accountability but Fufa CEO Edgar Watson assured stakeholders yesterday at Fufa House in Mengo that it is one of the key items on the agenda.

“Deliberations at the Assembly will rotate around the discussions of the NCS statutory instruments, 2017 Fufa budget estimates, Futsal Association of Uganda application to become a member of Fufa, process of amendments and the Fufa strategic plan for the period 2017 to 2022. We shall also unveil our books of account for last year,” said Watson.

The 92nd Fufa general assembly that will also be attended by National Council of Sports (NCS), Uganda Olympic Committee, Government officials and former players, will have Minister of State for Luwero Dennis Galabuzi as the chief guest.

Federation finally gets deputy CEO
It was also announced yesterday that Humphrey Mandu will deputize Watson as the federation CEO.

Watson described Mandu, a Uganda Premier League (UPL) board member, as a proficient graduate, proven leader and vastly experienced marketer who went through the required vetting procedure to scoop the job.

“Mandu will handle human resource, corporate issues and all the other general duties and he will be reporting to me,” Watson said.

Mandu, a former player at Posta, Kobs and also formerly the Makerere University Games Union chairman, promised to lift local football governance to another level.

“I am a true child of football. I stem from football. I am happy to be back to serve it administratively. I believe in team work with fair play.”

The arrival of Mandu, alongside new Fufa Youth Development Officer Bashir Mutyaba, puts the number of federation permanent staff to 30, with 4 on temporary basis.
